Trademark Licensing
Sometimes our products cost a little bit more or are limited, and here is why!
Fair Labour
All merchandise sold at the UVic Bookstore, carrying the UVic brand, is produced by companies who have agreed to the terms of and signed our Trademark Licensing Agreement.
This agreement is in place to ensure that items representing our brand are produced by manufacturers who employ fair labour practices.
We choose to buy items only from our list of licensed vendors, which is always evolving as new vendors sign our agreement and become licensed.
As the Trademark Licensing Office for the University, all items produced for resale featuring any of the UVic logos, must be approved by one of our officers.
Through this process we can ensure all UVic logoed merchandise is produced by a vendor that has agreed to our fair labour policies.
Correct Use of Our Trademarks
The University of Victoria’s name(s), crests, and all logos and images using any component within the University’s licensed trademarks are monitored by the Trademark Licensing Office. The Office approves use when reproducing anything connected to the University to make sure all items representing UVic represent the University within our guidelines.
If you would like further information or if you are a vendor who would like to become licenced please contact our office.
Club and Student Group Information
