How do I reserve my cap and gown?
Before graduation, graduates will receive an information package from the Ceremonies and Special Events Office.
Please try to reserve your cap and gown as soon as you know you are attending convocation. Your degree and sizing
information is critical. You will be asked to pay online using a credit card or choose to pay by debit or cash in
person to reserve your Cap and Gown.

How much does it cost?
Ceremonial Cap & Gown Rental : $60.00 per day

How do I determine my size?
Gown sizes are determined by your height.
Caps are one size fits all.

Where do I pick-up my cap and gown?
On the day of the ceremony you will go to the Senate Chambers, in the Jamie Cassels Centre. There will be signs outside to direct you.
Be sure to arrive at least two hours before the ceremony to avoid lineups and possibly delaying your arrival in the Clearihue "C" Wing Marshaling Rooms.

Will I need identification to pick-up my cap and gown?
Yes. Please bring identification (preferably your student card). Your regalia rental is reserved under your name.

What if I return my cap and gown late?
There is a $5 per item per day late fee that will be billed to you for late returns.

Can I purchase my own cap and gown?
Yes. Please contact the Bookstore by email at customorders@uvic.ca or telephone at 250.721.8309. Academic regalia is made to order from our supplier in eastern Canada. Please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery.

Can I rent cap and gown for photographs?
Yes, please place your rental order through our website: Rental Link
Rentals are not available between September 30th - November 30th, April 30th - June 30th, as they are reserved for convocations.
