DALE CARNEGIEwas a bestselling author, lecturer, actor and the founder of the Dale Carnegie Institute. The son of a farmer, Carnegie was born in 1888 in Maryville, Missouri. After graduating from teachers’ college, he worked as a salesman and an actor before he started teaching public speaking courses in New York City. His lectures became the basis forHow to Win Friends and Influence People, which has been published in over thirty languages. Carnegie died of Hodgkin’s disease in 1955.
